The University of Texas System runs nine universities throughout the Lone Star State with a total enrollment of more than 190,000 students, making it one of the largest university systems in the US. Its flagship Austin campus, with some 50,000 students, ranks as one of the nation's largest student populations (neck-and-neck with the main campuses at Ohio State and the University of Minnesota). UT also runs six health institutions, including four medical schools.
