Uniqema Company Description
Uniqema may not be one of a kind, but it is uniquely able to contribute to the bottom line of Croda. The company manufactures all manner of intermediates and additives. Uniqema's range of oleochemicals and surfactants improve the properties of health care products, lubricants, crop protection chemicals, pigments, and foods. Uniqema was a subsidiary of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) until 2006 when ICI sold it to fellow British specialty chemical maker Croda for about $750 million. Following that deal, Croda combined its oleochemicals business with Uniqema's and moved the acquired company's fibers operation under its own brand name.
