Formed by Spectra Energy out of the former natural gas holdings of Duke Energy, the company is a natural gas pipeline and storage facility operator. Its assets include a liquefied natural gas storage location in Tennessee, 50% of two natural gas storage facilities in Texas and Louisiana, and 25% of Gulfstream Natural Gas System. All told, Spectra Energy Partners has 3,100 miles of natural gas transmission and gathering pipelines capable of moved about 3.3 billion cu. ft. per day. It also has 42.5 billion cu. ft. of gas storage capacity.
