Shaw Group has positioned itself as one of the largest engineering and construction contractors for the power generation market, as well as one of the top environmental services firms. The company designs, builds, and maintains fossil fuel and nuclear power plants; provides consulting services to the chemical industry; performs environmental rehabilitations services; manages US government facilities; and manufactures pipe fittings. In 2008 the company sold its Shaw Energy Delivery Services (powerline services) business to Pike Electric.
