Formerly a giant military contractor, Rockwell Automation is now rocking along as one of the world's largest industrial automation companies. The company's control systems unit makes industrial automation products, such as motor starters and contactors, relays, timers, signaling devices, and variable speed drives. To complement its automation product offerings, Rockwell also offers factory management software. In 2007 the company sold most of the operations of its former power systems unit, which offered motors and motor repair services, as well as bearings, bushings, clutches, and brakes. Rockwell Automation makes half of its sales in the US.
