Founded in 1914, R.J. O'Brien (RJO) is one of the oldest independent futures brokerage firms in the US and a founding member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. RJO provides execution and clearing services for more than 60,000 clients, on every futures exchange worldwide. It serves a network of more than 270 introducing brokers. The company's services encompass commercial agri-business, introducing brokers, fixed income, and institutional services. It also serves individual customers and provides foreign exchange trading services. RJO oversees some $2 billion in assets. The firm is owned by the O'Brien family and investment firms Spectrum Equity Investors and Technology Crossover Ventures.
