PPC Company Description
Public Power Corporation (PPC) really lives up to its name. The company is Greece's primary electric utility, providing 96% of the country's power. PPC owns and operates approximately 100 generation facilities with 12,760 MW of capacity from hydroelectric, thermal (oil, lignite, and natural gas), and renewable sources (wind and solar power), and it delivers the spark to 7.4 million customers. PPC also trades wholesale electricity in Europe and operates lignite mines that produce more than 63 million tons per year. Through its interest in telecommunications company TELLAS, the company offers fixed telephony and internet access services. The Greek government owns 51% of PPC.
