Navios Maritime Partners Company Description
Navios Maritime Partners (NMP) knows what it means to stand on the shoulders of giants. The dry bulk transporter was formed in 2007 by Navios Maritime Holdings (NMH), which also operates dry bulk vessels. NMP hopes to take advantage of NMH's 50-plus years in business as it markets its own services. The junior company has a fleet of more than half a dozen vessels with an overall capacity of about 700,000 deadweight tons (DWT). Freight hauled by NMP's vessels includes such commodities as coal, grain, and iron ore. The vessels have been chartered under long-term contracts to customers such as Cargill International, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and Rio Tinto Shipping.
