Through its primary operating subsidiary, Proformance Insurance, the company provides auto and other property/casualty insurance to individuals and businesses exclusively in New Jersey. Its main product is a personal package deal, called the High Proformance Policy, that includes auto, homeowners, umbrella liability, and other specialty coverage. It also markets a standalone private passenger auto insurance policy, as well as commercial lines for small and midsized businesses. The firm sells its policies through independent agents. In 2008 National Atlantic was acquired by rival New Jersey insurer Palisades Safety and Insurance Association.
