Minnesota Twins Company Description

These former Senators went on to become a hit in the Midwest. The Minnesota Twins professional baseball franchise was formed in 1901 by Ban Johnson as the Washington Senators. A charter member of the American League, the Major League Baseball team moved to Minneapolis in 1960. It boasts six American League pennants and three World Series championships (the last in 1991). Previously playing host at the Hubert H. Humphery Metrodome, the franchise plans to take up residence at new Target Field for the 2010 season. Billionaire Carl Pohlad has owned the Twins since 1984.
