LifeCell Company Description

LifeCell puts new life into the tissue graft market. The firm makes skin graft materials processed from cadaver skin, a category of products known as allografts. Its products include AlloDerm, used in reconstructive plastic, dental, and burn surgeries; Repliform, used in urologic and gynecological surgeries; and GraftJacket, used in some orthopedic procedures. Orthopedic surgeons also use the company's AlloCraft DBM as a bone void filler. The company markets its products in the US and abroad through a direct sales force and distributors, including Boston Scientific, Wright Medical, and Stryker. LifeCell was acquired by wound care company Kinetic Concepts in 2008.
