Lantronix Company Description

Lantronix gets electronics online. The company designs servers that allow electronic devices such as bar code scanners, vending machines, thermostats, point-of-sale terminals, and security cameras to be accessed and controlled over networks. It also provides products for remote management of data centers and IT equipment. Lantronix, which outsources its manufacturing, sells primarily through OEMs, resellers, systems integrators, and distributors. Ingram Micro and Tech Data together account for about 20% of sales. Former chairman Bernhard Bruscha, who is a primary shareholder of computer systems maker transtec AG (a key Lantronix customer), owns about a third of Lantronix.
