Intellon Company Description
Intellon focuses its intelligence on powerline networking. The fabless semiconductor company designs analog, digital, and mixed-signal chips that enable high-speed network access over a home's existing power lines. The company also makes chips for low-bandwidth communications over power lines and wireless media. Its technology has been chosen as a standard for the HomePlug Powerline Alliance (an industry standards group for home networking) and has been tapped by manufacturers (and Intellon investors), including Motorola, Philips, and Samsung. Intellon gets most of its sales outside of the US.
