GSC Capital Company Description
GSC Capital finds security in asset-backed securities and related assets. The real estate investment trust (REIT) primarily invests in residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), as well as commercial mortgage-backed securities, whole loan mortgages, collateralized debt obligations (CDO), and leveraged finance instruments. It also invests in bridge loans, mezzanine loans, and B Notes. It owns a portfolio worth some $2.8 billion in assets; more than 40% of which is represented by agency RMBS. GSC Capital was founded in mid-2005 and is externally managed and advised by affiliated private investment firm GSC Group.
