Genpact Company Description

Genpact is planted -- past and present -- in General Electric. The company got its start as the India-based business process services unit of GE Capital, GE's financial services business. Today Genpact works with companies worldwide as an outsourcer of business processes, including collections and customer relations, finance and accounting, insurance, and procurement and supply chain. Since it became an independent company in 2005, when an investment group bought a controlling stake from GE, Genpact has contracted with more than 70 clients in such industries as banking and finance, health care, insurance, manufacturing, and transportation. GE continues to account for the majority of Genpact's revenue.
