The company oversees the mutual fund- and securities-related portion of Gabelli's financial empire. GAMCO provides advisory services to more than 20 mutual funds under the Gabelli, GAMCO, and Comstock brands, as well as to separate accounts for wealthy individuals and, to a lesser extent, pension plans, trusts, and profit-sharing plans. Despite the renown of its founder, the company adopted the GAMCO Investors name from one of its subsidiaries, which changed its name to GAMCO Asset Management. Gabelli controls the company.
