Favrille Company Description
Favrille hopes to bring personalized medicine to the masses. The biopharmaceutical company is focused on the research, development, and marketing of immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer and other immune system diseases. Specifically, it has developed technology that could make personalized cancer therapies, derived from patients' own tumors, quicker and cheaper to produce. Its key product candidate, Specifid (formerly FavID), has been in trials to treat types of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; however, development was halted in 2008 when the company's lead program, using Specific in concert with Genentech's cancer treatment Rituxan, failed.
