It also has noncore operations in Saskatchewan and other areas of Alberta. The company has an inventory of more than 50 locations that are prospects for drilling. Yangarra Resources has proved and probable reserves of 2.9 million barrels of oil equivalent. In 2009 it filed for Canada's version of bankruptcy protection and agreed to merge with Athabaska Energy.
