It's official: Vietnam News Agency (VNA) is the authoritative news service in Vietnam. Maintained by the government, the news agency makes official statements for the Communist Party and the state across more than 38 daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, news reports, photos, and daily announcements. The agency integrated with the Internet in 1998 and now offers its customers information online in English, French, Spanish, and Vietnamese. VNA was established in 1945 and has more than 100 regional bureaus located across Vietnam, as well as offices in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and the Pacific Rim/Oceania.
