Verigy's customers like to test their memory. The company is a leading maker of automated testing equipment used in the manufacturing of semiconductors. Its product line tests flash memory devices, high-speed memory chips, and system-on-a-chip (SoC) devices in various types of packages. Most of Verigy's revenue comes from equipment sales (more than 4,500 test systems installed worldwide), but about one-quarter is derived from services. The company counts Freescale Semiconductor, Spansion, and STMicroelectronics among its top customers. About three-quarters of sales comes from the Asia/Pacific region, home to most of the world's largest semiconductor assembly and test contractors.
