Vanguard Natural Resources is at the forefront of oil and gas exploration in the Appalachian Basin, the Permian Basin, and South Texas, acquiring and developing oil and gas properties in these region. In 2008 Vanguard Natural Resources reported estimated proved reserves of 108.5 billion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent and an interest in 960 net and about 1,450 gross wells. The company also owns a 40% working interest in some 109,500 acres in Appalachia. Vinland Energy Eastern owns the remaining 60% working interest of the acreage. Vinland owner Majeed S.
