Formed by Spectra Energy out of the former natural gas holdings of Duke Energy , the company is a natural gas pipeline and storage facility operator. Its assets include a liquefied natural gas storage location in Tennessee, 50% of two natural gas storage facilities in Texas and Louisiana, and 25% of Gulfstream Natural Gas System (2,100 miles of pipe in the Gulf of Mexico). Spectra Energy Partners plans to expand its pipeline and storage facilities. Expanding its supply base, in 2009 the company agreed to buy Ozark Gas Transmission and Ozark Gas Gathering Systems from Atlas Pipeline Partners for $300 million.
