The sunny southwestern US is smiling on Southwest Gas. The largest gas supplier in Arizona and Nevada, it provides natural gas to more than 1.8 million customers in the two states, as well as in portions of California. Southwest Gas acquires its natural gas from 46 suppliers and pumps it through distribution mains. It also owns a transmission pipeline that supplies the Las Vegas area, and subsidiary Paiute Pipeline transports gas from the Idaho-Nevada border to Reno and Lake Tahoe. Another Southwest Gas subsidiary, Northern Pipeline Construction, is an underground piping contractor that serves gas distributors.
