Roadrunner Records is one of the top heavy metal imprints in the US, sporting such talent as Nickelback, Slipknot, and Type O Negative. The label was founded by chairman Cees Wessels in Amsterdam in 1981 in order to license US hard-rock music for European release. Roadrunner has operations in about a dozen countries around the world.
