RWE doesn't stand for Runs With Electricity, but it could. Through its subsidiaries, the energy conglomerate provides electricity, gas, and water to residential and business customers, primarily in Central and Western Europe. RWE is one of Germany's top two electricity suppliers (along with E.ON); it also owns major UK-based utilities, and domestic electricity and gas supplier RWE npower. RWE owns oil and gas exploration and production unit RWE-DEA; other businesses include companies engaged in gas transportation and storage, power generation (including wind), energy trading, information technology, and coal mining.
