The company's primary products are olefins such as ethylene and propylene used in the manufacture of plastics. These products make up nearly all of the company's sales. PTT Chemical also produces chemicals used to make adhesives, paint, rubber, and solvents. It is Thailand's largest producer of olefins. PTT Chemical was formed in 2005 when oil and gas company PTT acquired National Petrochemical Public Co. Ltd. and combined it with its Thai Olefins unit. PTT owns just under 50% of the company.
