Part of New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metro-North Commuter Railroad carries passengers between New York City and its New York and Connecticut suburbs. The company, known as MTA Metro-North Railroad or Metro-North, covers 775 miles of track and serves about 285,000 riders per weekday. Three of the company's lines operate from Grand Central Terminal in New York City; the other two operate from Hoboken, New Jersey.
