Marathon Real Estate Mortgage Trust is trained on distressed investments. A real estate investment trust (REIT), Marathon invests in under-performing or non-performing residential mortgage loans (often sold at a discounted rate), as well as residential mortgage-backed securities that may or may not be backed by government agencies.
