Magyar Telekom is the primary provider of fixed-line service in Hungary, with 2.5 million fixed access lines. The company is also the leading mobile carrier in the country, serving more than 4.9 million subscribers through its T-Mobile-branded wireless unit. Other holdings include a 76% stake in Crnogorski Telekom, which provides fixed-line and Internet services in the Republic of Montenegro, and a 56% stake in MakTel, which is the incumbent fixed-line carrier in the Republic of Macedonia.
