Italian engineer Achille Gaggia founded the company after developing a system that forced hot water over coffee grounds in 1938. Gaggia offers a number of commercial models of espresso and coffee machines, as well as additional models for home use. The company also sells other kitchen and home products, such as coffee grinders, electric tea kettles, blenders, juicers, ice cream makers, irons, and vacuum cleaners.
