Empresas Copec (formerly known as Compañía de Petróleos de Chile) is the country's #1 importer and distributor of gasoline and petroleum by-products sold through several channels, including its more than 600 gas stations. Copec's interests aren't single-minded, though: The industrial conglomerate owns Celulosa Arauco y Constitución (whose subsidiaries and affiliates cover the spectrum of forestry and wood products manufacturing) and fisheries businesses Corpesca and SouthPacific Korp, or SPK.
