With offices in the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia, the company is the exclusive marketer of Time Life music, videos, DVDs, and books worldwide. The company sells its products over the Internet, on TV, in retail stores, and by telephone and direct mail. DHW was formed in 2003 by investment firm Ripplewood Holdings and partner ZelnickMedia to act as the parent for housewares and novelty catalog retailer Lillian Vernon (sold in 2006). DHW became a part of The Reader's Digest Association (RDA) after Ripplewood Holdings acquired RDA in 2007. RDA filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August 2009.
