Daemen College is a private liberal arts university located in Amherst, New York. The college offers more than than 40 undergraduate major programs, about 15 graduate and accelerated courses of study, and five professional certifications. It has an enrollment of more than 2,000 students. The school was established in 1947 as Rosary Hill College by the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, whose founder was Magdalene Daemen, a Dutch woman dedicated to working with the poor.
