Known simply as Copersucar, the organization of Brazilian cane, sugar, and alcohol (ethanol) producers manages the production, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of its member companies' products and promotes stability within the sugar market. Founded in 1959 with a dozen members, the cooperative now consists of more than 80 associate companies of which more than 30 are sugar and alcohol production companies located in the Brazilian states of Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Parana.
