California Community Foundation supports not-for-profit organizations and public institutions in the Los Angeles area. It performs its function by offering funding for health and human services, affordable housing, early childhood education, and community arts and culture. The foundation has assets of $423 million. The 24th Street Theatre, Antelope Valley Hospital, and Community Arts Partnership are among the organizations to have received the foundation's grant funding. In times of emergency, it has also pitched in to help groups in other areas (it donated about $400,000 to relief organizations after the 2004 Southeast Asia tsunami).
