After more than 300 years, C. Hoare & Co. operates one of the oldest (and most elite) private, independent banks in the world. Established in 1672 by Sir Richard Hoare, the bank began as a goldsmith under the sign of the golden bottle, where the bank's first lending activities were undertaken. The golden bottle remains a symbol of the bank, which has two London locations. C. Hoare & Co. offers a variety of savings and investment services (such as loans, mortgages, individual savings accounts, personal equity plans, and investment advice) as well as a host of services and consultation for tax and estate planning. The private bank, which caters to the very wealthy, is still run by the descendants of the founder. To read the full description, subscribe now.
