Formerly Container Applications International, the company leases large steel boxes to ship freight by plane, train, or truck around the world. Over 30% of its container fleet is owned by CAI and the balance, owned by container investors, is managed by CAI. The leasing segment offers 200-plus shipping companies short-term, less than one year, and long-term, five year, leases. Its finance leases give lessees the option to purchase the container. Management services provide container investors with the muscle to lease, re-lease, and dispose of their portfolio of containers.
