Blue Planet Investment Management administers 12 UK-based investment trusts. The trusts are largely made up of shares and bonds of companies (primarily banks) in the financial services sector. The Malta-based firm focuses only on the financial sector, a sector that its management believes has long-term economic prospects. Employee-owned Blue Planet also follows a stringent ethical policy and it does not invest in sectors such as alcohol or tobacco production, gambling, nuclear power, animal testing, or pharmaceutical companies. Chairman and CEO Kenneth Murray founded the precursor to Blue Planet in 1994.
