Since 1995, BYD has helped keep Chinese consumers electrified and mobile. The company manufactures a range of IT and electronic components, as well as cars. The second-largest rechargeable battery producer in the world (after Energizer), BYD makes plastic housing and tooling, keypads, LCD panels and modules, multimedia cards, and optoelectronics. Clients include Motorola, Haier, and GE. Subsidiary BYD Automobile manufactures and distributes multiple lines of medium-sized gasoline and hybrid automobiles. The BYD name stands for "build your dreams."
