American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO (AFSCME) finds strength in its numbers. The 1.6 million member labor union represents public sector employees in industries such as health care, education, social services, transportation, and public works. The group advocates and seeks legislative change for issues relating to social and economic justice in the workplace.
