The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is dedicated to improving the quality of health care in the US. The organization conducts and sponsors research to help clinicians, patients, health care institutions, health plan administrators, public policymakers, and others in making health care decisions. About 80% of AHRQ's nearly $320 million budget is given as grants and contracts to research institutions throughout the nation.
