In 2006 the company changed its name from Naptau Gold and began to explore other business opportunities, including specialty fuel production. 1st NRG is seeking to invest oil and gas production and vertically integrate those assets into midstream operations. The company is reviewing initial projects in Midwestern US, Argentina, and Guatemala. In 2008 it announced plans that it would explore specialty fuel opportunities in China.
