Clean Energy Fuels Company Description
Forget cooking with gas -- Clean Energy Fuels is driving with gas. Natural gas, that is. The company owns and/or supplies 184 natural gas fueling stations across the US and Canada. These enable Clean Energy's 320-plus fleet customers to tank up their more than 17,200 fleet vehicles with compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG). Clean Energy also helps customers buy and finance natural gas vehicles and obtain government incentives. The company buys CNG from local utilities and produces LNG at its two plants (in California and Texas) with a combined capacity of 260,000 gallons per day. Founder and billionaire oilman T. Boone Pickens and wife Madeleine own 54% of Clean Energy.
