CardioMEMS Company Description

CardioMEMS isn't a telecom company, but it does want you to go wireless. A medical device firm, CardioMEMS owns a proprietary wireless sensing and communication technology for the human body, and recently introduced its first commercial device, the EndoSure Wireless AAA Pressure Measurement System (EndoSure). Cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2005, EndoSure measures aneurysm sac pressure during abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair and is used alongside traditional angiography. The company is currently seeking FDA approval to use the device not only during, but also following, the procedure. About a dozen CardioMEMS executives and board members control more than half of the company.
