In these uncertain economic times it seems making serious money in the IPO market takes - well, it takes Visa. The credit and payment card company set a record when it went public in the first quarter of 2008, raising $17.9 billion and finishing up its first 10 days on the NYSE up 42% -- the best performance of any IPO of the quarter. Meanwhile, investors didn't have much stomach for investing in heart therapies under investigation by Bioheart. The company went public on the NASDAQ in February, but finished the first quarter down 24% .
