A separate company with rights to the Avis name, UK-based Avis Europe, operates in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. Together with sister company Budget Rent A Car System, Avis Rent A Car System has a fleet of more than 380,000 rental cars. The premium Avis fleet averages about 217,500 vehicles. The company is a subsidiary of Avis Budget Group, the remaining unit of the former Cendant conglomerate.
