Atlantic Tele-Network (ATN) is making connections from the rain forests of Guyana to the maple groves of Vermont. ATN owns 80% of incumbent carrier Guyana Telephone & Telegraph (GT&T), which operates more than 130,000 fixed access telephone lines and has about 330,000 cellular subscribers. In the US, ATN provides wholesale wireless voice and data roaming services to local and national communications carriers through subsidiary Commnet. The company offers these international long distance services mainly in five states in the Southwest and Midwest regions, largely through partnerships with US-based carriers AT&T and Verizon Communications.
