The company's Tempress Systems subsidiary makes diffusion furnaces for semiconductor fabrication and for precision thermal processing -- including annealing, brazing, silvering, sealing, and soldering -- of electronic devices, including optical components and photovoltaic solar cells. Its P.R. Hoffman Machine Products subsidiary makes equipment used to polish items, including silicon wafers, precision optics, ceramic components, and disk media. Amtech Systems gets about two-thirds of its sales in the Asia/Pacific region, primarily from China and Taiwan.
