County may sell land for new development near Shoppes [St. Joseph News-Press (MO)]

Aug. 30--The Buchanan County Commission is in discussions with an out-of-state developer to market 15 acres near the Shoppes at North Village. The new retail development will be just northwest of the Interstate 29 and North U.S. Highway 169 intersection. The county will sell the land to the developer, and use that money to lay road, utilities and sewer lines to the land.

Aug. 29--Close behind the fire trucks and police cars responding to a catastrophe, a flock of "vultures" follows, Linda Coffey says. She should know. The fire destroyed most of her garage and family room and gutted the house next door. "We had people trying to get us to sign contracts for days after the fire," she said.
