Aeroflex flexes its high-tech muscle with aerospace and communications components. The company's diverse offerings include integrated circuits, microelectronic modules, and thin-film interconnects used in military aircraft, satellites, and fiber-optic and broadband cable networks. Aeroflex also makes test and measurement gear for communications networks and motion control applications. The company's largest customer base is the US government and its contractors; Aeroflex sells to such blue-chip clients as Lockheed Martin and Teradyne. In 2007 the company was acquired by Veritas Capital, Golden Gate Private Equity, and Goldman Sachs for about $1.1 billion in cash.
